Our good buddy Mike Brown will be stepping down as the Mayor’s Communication Director to work behind the scenes at City Hall. Brown has worked as CD since 2000 when Mike Coleman was first eleceted Mayor to the great city of Columbus.
According to stories Brown was too young and inexpereienced for the Mayor to keep him as his permanent Communications Director, however, it didnt take long before Brown proved himself to be the best man for the job. If you’ve spent anytime around Brown you’ll know why, he’s loyal to Coleman, easy going and he communicates the Mayor’s message without making you feel like you dined in the horse stables at Scioti Downs. We know you’ll still be making moves at City Hall Mike and we’ll be here to call you on it or compliment you on it. Good luck MB!

I just heard this news via NBC4 while getting ready for work this morning:
Haiku Restaurant employees Rachel Widomski, 28, and Julie Liu, 48, followed an unknown man to the parking lot after he failed to pay his restaurant check, according to police.
The man got into a late-90s model maroon Jeep Cherokee that was on the northeast corner of North Pearl Street and East Hubbard Avenue.
The suspect started the vehicle and struck Widomski and Liu as he backed out of his parking spot, a report said. The suspect then pulled forward and struck Todd Sandler, 30, as he drove out of the lot.
Todd was treated at the scene by fire medics. Widomski was transported to Grant Medical Center and remained in critical condition. Liu was transported to OSU Medical Center and remained in serious but stable condition.
Update at 2:47pm via Brett Simonson who is a good friend of Widomski: Anyone with information about the incident or the driver can contact assault-squad detectives at 614-645-4189. Also, 10TV report HERE

If you go to Goodale ave at 1:30 pm today it might look like a scene out of Noah’s Ark. Ringling Brother’s Circus will parade it’s elephants down Goodale avenue to promote their circus coming to town at the Nationwide Arena this Thursday May 15, 2008.
Huh? What’s that? Ok so it’s been brought to my attention that I can’t get excited about seeing elephants marching down Goodale park because historically they treat the animals like shit in this industry. Ok so I won’t be out there watching in support I’ll be watching in protest!
Come join me!
